Well done Saskatchewan Roughriders!
The farewell to Mosaic Stadium campaign is officially over for the Green and White. It ended Saturday following the BC – Saskatchewan game.
The Riders are running a business, so hopefully the campaign was lucrative. The branding began before the season started, urging fans to be part of “The Final Chapter.” It was great marketing.
Saturday’s post-game ceremony was sensational. Whoever had a hand in it should take a bow. There was the timeline video, followed by the introduction of four Rider greats from the teams’ four Grey Cup championships, to present-day star Darian Durant leading the countdown fireworks. The program was concise and impactful.
Again, it’s stands and cement. The great George Reed suggested the facility should have been knocked down years ago. He’s right. The fan experience at the new Mosiac will be much better.
When talking about the old Mosaic Stadium Darian Durant said “It was the fans that made this place”. He too is correct.
