Details emerged Wednesday afternoon about an incident that saw a member of the Saskatoon Hilltops sent to hospital after he was taped to a pole.
Troy Davies with MD Ambulance said they responded to a call on Oct. 14 about an 18-year-old male who had been injured at the team’s practice field.
Davies said he was transported to hospital in stable condition, but privacy laws prevented him from elaborating.
According to police, the teen’s injuries were considered minor and the matter has been dropped.
“At the request of the victim, the file was concluded without charges,” said Kelsie Fraser, Saskatoon police spokeswoman. “It was not believed that there was intent to cause injury.”
However, Fraser said, if at any point the victim wanted to pursue charges, police would take a statement and reopen their investigation.
