There are some debates that are a waste of time.
The ‘”which is better? NFL or CFL” debate is right up there.
Dale Isaac, a Football Reporters of Canada Hall of Famer, said it best: “It’s OK to enjoy both leagues.”
Sadly in Toronto, the site of this year’s Grey Cup, there is an uneducated viewpoint from many media members – and, as a result, from some fans – that the quality of the CFL game is inferior.
Some can’t get past the fact that quality is not measured in salary. It should be easy to comprehend, but for some reason many in the GTA can’t process it.
Sunday’s CFL divisional semi-finals were far superior than any of the NFL games on television the same day.
One CFL playoff game was decided by three points, the other by one. There are weeks when the NFL games provide more entertainment than CFL contests.
Here is hoping that Toronto’s sports media members and some fans gain the ability for intelligent perspective on this matter, as they haven’t yet.
