RCMP are in the final stages of the investigation into the deaths of seven-year-old Nia Eastman and her father, Adam Jay Eastman.
An Amber Alert was activated last Thursday after Adam didn’t drop Nia off at her mother’s house as planned.
Adam was found dead with self-inflicted wounds that morning. Hours later, Nia’s body was discovered in a Choiceland home by investigators.
Both autopsies were completed Monday. The investigation has determined the causes of death were homicide and suicide.
Specific causes of death will not be released for either individual.
RCMP said there is no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved.
Since no charges will be laid, no further details will be released.
RCMP told 650 CKOM people may still see plainclothes officers in the area, as they continue to collect statements about the events. This will not, however, change the outcome of the investigation as it stands.
Choiceland is located around 100 kilometres east of Prince Albert.
