The Saskatoon SPCA has a new furry face for its annual fundraising drive.
They’re calling him Chomps — he’s a tiny kitten who was brought to the SPCA after being found by the side of the highway near Dundurn, Sask.
Workers at the SPCA discovered he had a broken leg and was severely malnourished. They named him after seeing how quickly he devoured his food.
Chomps is reportedly going to need foster care with regular visits to the SPCA to change his bandages as his leg heals.
The SPCA is asking people to help Chomps and hundreds of other animals in need by donating to their Cause for Paws telethon, which runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be the fourth annual installment of the event. Last year, the telethon raised $20,000. People can tune in on Shaw TV (Channel 10) or watch an online stream at www.saskatoonspca.com.
Donations can be made online or by phone at 306-974-PAWS.
