The RCMP have laid new charges against Gerald Stanley, the rancher accused of killing Colten Boushie.
Boushie, 22, and a group of friends pulled onto Stanley’s property on the evening of Aug. 9. According to police, there was a confrontation between the group and Stanley and his son. Boushie died after being shot in the head.
Stanley, 55, was charged with second-degree murder.
On Wednesday, RCMP put out a release saying they have laid more charges.
In addition to the second-degree murder charge, Stanley now faces two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm.
Stanley is next due to appear in a North Battleford court in April 2017 for a preliminary hearing.
