Rent reduced for riders, early budget items approved by Regina Council

Council retroactively slashed $1.33 million in rent owed by the Roughriders.
For the past week I was in Toronto, attending the Grey Cup and trying to
convince Travis Lulay or Henry Burris they should join the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
I know, it’s not my job. Some people think I don’t even like the Riders. But I was trying help out a franchise that may not have a competent quarterback in 2017. Contract negotiations between the Riders and veteran pivot Darian Durant are getting ugly, so it’s important to have another Grey Cup winner available.
Lulay said he’s fully recovered from his injury problems. He admitted the Riders have to resolve their Durant issues, that he’s happy in BC and that he’s not yet ready to become a fulltime TV analyst even though he’s really good.
Burris wants to play another year and kidded about returning to Saskatchewan. He’s under contract to Ottawa, but the Redblacks insist Burris starts next season as a backup to Trevor Harris. Admittedly, that was before Burris earned outstanding-player honours for winning Sunday’s Grey Cup.
I’m thinking the Riders need to look elsewhere.
