A funeral will be held Monday in Saskatoon for M-L-A Roger Parent.
The 63-year-old died unexpectedly from cancer on Tuesday, one day after revealing his illness to the public.
Parent was first elected Saskatoon Meewasin M-L-A as part of the governing Saskatchewan Party in 2011 and was re-elected in last spring’s vote.
Before that, Parent was involved with a number of committees and organizations in Saskatoon, including those related to indigenous economic development and homelessness.
Flags have been lowered at all city buildings in Saskatoon in his honour.
Parent’s funeral will take place at Lakeview Alliance Church at 10 a.m.
