Saskatoon’s Steve Laycock dropped a pair of narrow matchups on Thursday to drop to 2-2 at the Canada Cup.
The event in Brandon started out well for the curler out of Nutana Curling Club. Laycock’s rink pulled off a pair of wins Wednesday to sit 2-0 heading into Thursday.
Brad Gushue’s side came away with a 7-6 win in the first of two draws for Laycock’s side. Team Gushue was playing without the aforementioned Brad Gushue, who is injured.
Team Laycock tried to rebound against Brad Jacob’s side, but ended up on the losing end, going down 6-4 Thursday night.
With his 2-2 record, Laycock sits fourth out of seven, with two more round robin draws to come on Friday.
