Pot on stove causes apartment fire in Saskatoon

Damage is pegged at $16,000 after a kitchen fire at a City Park apartment Sunday evening.
 
Saskatoon fire crews were called to  733 5th Avenue North just before 7 p.m.
 
Smoke was showing from the rear of the building when crews arrived.
 
The building was evacuated and the fire was brought under control quickly.
 
There were no injuries, but a child was assessed by EMS at the scene and released.
 
Investigators determined the fire was caused by an unattended pot on the stove.
