A 65-year-old inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre is dead.
Xavier François Batoche died Sunday while in custody, but few other details are known.
Batoche had been serving an indeterminate sentence since 1985 for Second-Degree Murder, Impaired Driving, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Disqualified and Obstructing a Police/Peace Office.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
