Jamie Nye: Reed has 2 months to turn around the Als

The Montreal Alouettes want a winning franchise, not just a winning team.

But to do that, they have to let the football people handle the football and let the business people handle the business.

Kavis Reed and Jacques Chapdelaine have been around this league for a long time, so to call them inexperienced is unfair.

At their current positions, sure they are but Reed and Chapdelaine have been on championship teams and know what it takes to build.

Reed also is a people person, he’s never burnt and bridge and should be able to assemble assistants around him who are a little more experienced in football operations.

Chapdelaine is the same. He has coached with many and won and should be able to assemble a group of assistants.

First, they need to try to retain Noel Thorpe as defensive coordinator, though that may be hard to do, then get their hooks into Darian Durant on Feb. 14 to stabilize the quarterback position.

Already, that is a team that can be competitive in the East Division.
