A couple of weeks ago, a report surfaced that the NFL was considering cancelling Thursday night football.
The NFL publicly denied the report. Thursday games are in the collective bargaining agreement until 2020.
I believe where there is smoke, there is fire. Since the Thursday games started, few have been good.
The NFL may have been hoping to give more teams more prime time exposure. The problem is many of those teams aren’t worthy of prime time TV.
Why tire players on weak teams out with mid-week football, and create a scheduling headache?

I will admit that the one thing Thursday night football does is make money for the NFL. This may, however, be a case where money doesn’t make the world go round.
