A man is being accused of murdering a women he knew on the Little Black Bear First Nation, a little west of Melville.
Members of the File Hills Police Service were called to the first nation around 7:15 a.m. Thursday for a report of an unresponsive female outside a home. EMS were called and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 33 year old Lauren Quewezance from the Little Black Bear First Nation.
Police have arrested and charged Sherman Luke Bellegarde, 37, with second degree murder.
Bellegarde made his first court appearance in Regina Friday morning.
