More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
Get a load of this 70,000 lights synchronized to music, 21 controllers, 600 LED color pixels, 100 strobe lights, 1800 RPG channels, the only thing missing is a partridge in a pear tree.
That’s the sight outside Scott Lambie’s house on Clinkskill Drive, which has the biggest light display in Saskatoon.
“When the floodlights go off, the dining room light actually dims,” he said.
It takes four electrical circuits to run the display. In 2015 the display only had 50,000 lights.
“I’m thinking about putting in RBG trees which you can make any colour next year,” Lambie said.
“I also wish I could do fireworks every night as well.”
It takes around 38 minutes for the display to run through. The house lights up at 5:30 p.m. and continues until 10:30 p.m through the week and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
“People are outside waiting at 4:00 p.m. just to get a spot,” Lambie said.
It’s the fifth year the family has done the display and they’re no stranger to the bright lights in the windows.
“We have to close the blinds at night,” he joked.
“I’m already thinking about what I can do next year to make it better.”
The show will run until Jan. 3rd, 2017. To hear the music, drivers tune their radios to 89.7 FM.
