The aging boilers required immediate attention this winter after two completely stopped working, and a third recently started leaking.
Lighthouse received permission from Social Services to pull the $84,000 from funds earmarked to renovate the building’s 68 suites and office area.
The shelter is hopeful that renovation can still go ahead now.
