Berkly Catton, Brayden Yager, Caden Price and Tanner Howe were all named.
Pardon Saskatchewan Roughrider fans for not being as excited as the team would like them to be for the 2017 season.
In an innocent enough post on the website and social media, the Riders outlined 10 things for fans to be excited about.
The reaction outside of the likes and shares was certainly a little more worried than excited. The criticism ranged from the head coach to who was playing or may not be playing quarterback in 2017.
Last year I proclaimed the only guarantee I’d make is that the Riders would win more than 3 games like they did in 2015. I was getting worried I’d be wrong at one point.
I can’t make such a proclamation going into the new year because of the quarterback or lack thereof.
So excuse the hesitation amongst those Rider Priders to not get overly excited about 2017. They aren’t negative nellies. The team is 8-28 over the last two seasons, after all. Add to that questions at quarterback.
The fan base has every right to be cautious about their enthusiasm for 2017.
