Regina gas prices rise to over a dollar

Gas prices in Regina are currently trending upwards and are now over a dollar at some stations.

The price has jumped from below .93 cents per litre to $1.02 per litre in the Queen City.

GasBuddy’s Dan McTeague said the reason for the price increase is two refineries in the U.S. have run into some problems with a recent cold patch in the states.

He said there are still a few holdouts that are still selling gas below a dollar.

“It’s likely because they still have gasoline they bought last week,” McTeague said. He said those stations will be raising their prices to around a dollar by Thursday.

Mctegaue said there might be a small drop in price by about a penny or two over the week.

“The idea that we see 80 cents per litre is pretty much over for the time being.”
