The NFL has to prevent the New England Patriots from playing Michael Floyd this season.
In no way should he play while players who smoke marijuana get a four game ban for their first offense.
Floyd could be activated soon if the Patriots see fit after they plucked him off waivers when the Arizona Cardinals sent the right message by cutting him after yet another drunk driving arrest.
Floyd has been charged with underage as well as one driving under the influence from his college days and now this: Hammered, passed out behind the wheel at an intersection in Scottsdale.
Video from an officer’s body camera is sickening to see. Reports are a .218 reading for blood alcohol level.
But no suspension from the league.
Drunk driving is serious and much more dangerous than smoking pot.
But let’s all take this more seriously. Nine people per day were caught driving intoxicated in Saskatchewan last month.
Dealing with our own disastrous drunk driving record must be of highest priority in 2017.
