Potash workers at the Lanigan mine were treated with Christmas cheer Thursday morning.
Lanigan was supposed to be shut down for 12 weeks beginning in February, but that’s no longer the case.
It will be deferred to later in the summer and perhaps be part of the annual maintenance shutdown.
PotashCorp officials called it an inventory management issue.
About one-quarter of the workforce would have been affected.
The shutdown at Allan will still proceed for a 12 week period beginning in February.
