The holidays bring people together no matter where they live.
Friday was expected to be the busiest travel day of the year for the Regina International Airport as officials said they are expecting over 7,000 passengers to arrive or depart from its terminal.
Brian Leitch from Grande Prairie, Alta. was one of those passengers arriving, bringing his entire family back to the place he used to call home.
He said that while they’re visiting, he’ll be showing Max, his five-year-old son, places that meant a lot to him.
“I like to drive by the house that I grew up in and make sure he knows where I grew up,” said Leitch. “Wascana Park, Grandma and Grandpa’s house, and I just mainly want him to meet people who are important to me back home.”
The airport is also expected to pass the 1.25 million passenger mark for the entire year Friday.
