Snow blankets Sask.: in the Southeast they're buried

It’s a white Christmas across the province, but Environment Canada told 650 CKOM Sunday it’s probably not a welcome sign in the southeast.

 Meteorologist Brian Bukoski said Estevan and Carlyle are the hardest hit areas.

“They’re looking at potentially 20 to 30 centimetres of snow by Monday morning,” he said.

Bukoski expected visibility would also be an issue as the storm system moved through.

“Traveling is going to be kind of treacherous if we have snow accumulating on the roads, and blowing snow, and visibility near zero, I would be very careful on the roads,” he said.

As of 8 a.m. Sunday the Highway Hotline was not reporting any road closures, but swirling and blowing snow was reported on most highways
