North Battleford, Saskatchewan’s Andrew Albers will report to a new team when MLB teams report for spring training in 2017.
The 31-year-old left-handed pitcher has signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves.
Albers is coming off a 2016 season split between the Minnesota Twins and its Triple-A affiliate in Rochester.
In six major league appearances last season, Albers started twice and threw 16 strikeouts with an earned-run average of 5.82.
With the Twins minor league team in Rochester, he posted a record of 10 wins and six losses with a 3.69 ERA to go along with 84 strikeouts in 21 starts.
This is Albers’ fifth organization since being drafted by the San Diego Padres in 2008.
