Connor Ingram made his first start for Team Canada Tuesday and his cheering section was making noise for every shot he faced – all six of them.
Connor only faced six shots as Canada went on to win 5-0 over Slovakia.
“We had to start cheering for every time he made a save because there were so few shots so we had a chance to wave our banners for everybody,” his father Brent Ingram said. “It was great.”
Brent said he got a chance to talk with Connor after the game and said he’s been excited about the whole event.
Connor’s older brother, Mark, also made the trip to the tournament to watch his brother play.
“It’s pretty exciting, especially as an older brother,” Mark said. “When you peppered him with all those shots years ago and pretending like you had something to do with it then.”
Brent said the experience has been amazing for the whole family.
“We’re having a great time, I’m pretty sure we can hearing the cheering from Saskatchewan out here so keep it up.”
Canada plays Latvia Thursday with coverage starting at 6 p.m. on 980 CJME and 650 CKOM.
