A woman allegedly used an axe to rob a business on Boxing Day, then confronted police with a needle.
Regina police said officers were dispatched to a business on the 3100 block of Avonhurst around 8:35 p.m. on Dec. 26.
Police said the woman entered wearing a mask and carrying an axe. She allegedly demanded money before leaving with cash. An employee allegedly followed her. There was a short physical confrontation before the suspect got away.
Police said officers found her with money and the axe nearby. She was taken into custody without incident, but was taken to the hospital with a minor injury allegedly sustained during the confrontation with the employee.
Police said the woman became confrontational at the hospital and came at police with a needle. Officers deployed a Taser on her.
Sarah Stevenson, 32, was charged with robbery with a weapon, disguise with intent, two counts of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assaulting a police officer with a weapon.
Police also laid charges in connection to a robbery at the 2100 block of Pasqua Street on Dec. 25.
Stevenson was scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 28.
