People were hitting the slopes over the holidays.
Mission Ridge Snow School Director Anders Svenson said they were busier than expected during the colder days.
“It’s been a real good start to the season, I think everyone’s been having fun,” Svenson said.
According to Svenson, they received four to five inches of snow on Christmas Eve and during Christmas Day.
“It’s a dream come true for a ski hill operator,” Svenson said. “Having that little bit of fresh stuff to mix with our man-made snow makes it a little bit softer, a little nicer to turn in and it just gets people thinking about skiing in the city.”
He added families have been the ones taking advantage of the good conditions.
“It’s the one thing you can do as a family in the winter. It’s not like hockey where you all have to sit there and watch one kids play hockey. You come out with mom and dad and the kids and everybody can be on the hill at the same time enjoying stuff together.”
Mission Ridge will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Years Day.
