Known more for his play in his own zone, Saskatoon star defenceman Libor Hajek brought the offense in the Blades’ 4-2 win over Brandon.
Hajek scored twice, including the eventual game-winner in the third period, just his third of the season.
Jesse Shynkaruk (13) opened the scoring in the second period before Brandon potted both of their goals not long after.
Hajek found the net twice in less than two minutes to tie the game and then put Saskatoon ahead.
Braylon Shmyr (21) added an empty net goal to seal the win for the Blades, their first in 2017. That win puts them just four points back of Brandon for a playoff spot.
Brock Hamm made 25 saves in a winning effort on a night where Saskatoon dominated the shot count, outshooting the Wheat Kings 42-27.
The Blades are back in action Friday night against the Warriors in Moose Jaw.
