Police investigating after woman reports being abducted, sexually assaulted

Saskatoon police are asking for help after a woman was reportedly abducted Monday afternoon.

Police picked the 26-year-old Melfort woman up at a convenience store on 22nd Street shortly after 3 a.m. Tuesday.

She told officers she had been walking near a gas station on Highway 5 around 4 p.m. Monday when she was picked up by five men in a truck.

The woman told police the men drove her to a home, believed to be on the east side of Saskatoon, and then forced her into the basement. 

She reported that she was kept confined for several hours and sexually assaulted.

The woman reportedly managed to escape and get into a cab, which she took to the convenience store to call police.

Saskatoon police said they got a report from RCMP earlier Monday evening saying the woman was being held against her will. However, they were unable to find her.

The men are described as possibly being Middle Eastern in appearance and driving a black Dodge truck.

The driver is described as being around 35 to 40 years old, with a short beard and dark hair with a buzz cut. He reportedly has a thicker build and was wearing a black dress jacket, jeans and tan-coloured Timberland boots.

The second passenger is described as a taller man, between 25 and 30 years old, with a skinny build and a beard.

The third man reportedly looked to be about 27 or 28 years old, about six feet tall with a beard and short, frizzy black hair.
