RCMP confirm fatal crash on Highway 5 near St. Denis

Saskatoon RCMP have confirmed a serious crash on Highway 5 was fatal.

At least one person is dead after the collision Wednesday morning.

It happened before 9 a.m. around eight kilometres east of the Highway 5 junction with Highway 2 in the St. Denis area.

As a result, RCMP blocked traffic in both directions. The highway reopened shortly after 2:30 p.m.

RCMP said due to the nature of the crash, information is slow to gather and disseminate.

At this time, police are unable to confirm vehicle makes and models, the victims or circumstances around the crash.

Police will provide more details to media as more becomes available.
