A 26-year-old man is in custody after evading police in the Confederation area Sunday morning.
It all started at 7:51 a.m. when a canine officer spotted a stolen truck, it pulled into an apartment complex on 33rd Street.
When the officer approached the vehicle the driver backed up and rammed the police cruiser before the passenger ran and the driver got away in the truck.
Police tracked the passenger to a shed on Bowman Crescent where they believe he took a bicycle, he then went to a business near Wedge Road and George Road and got into a taxi.
Officers pulled over the cab and arrested the 26-year-old man.
Around 8:30 a.m. police found the stolen truck, but there was no sign of the driver.
A cruiser responding to the initial call was involved in a collision at 33rd Street West and Confederation Drive. There were no injuries.
