The honeymoon is over and the Saskatchewan Rush were taken to task in an 18-10 loss to Georgia in their opening game of the National Lacrosse League season.
Saskatchewan is looking to defend their back to back league championships.
Georgia got a boost from some costly Rush penalties, scoring five times on the powerplay.
Rush goals were scored by Mark Matthews (3), Adam Jones (2), Robert Church (2), Curtis Knight, Ryan Keenan and Adrian Sorichetti.
Tyler Carlson made 33 saves on 51 shots in the loss.
The Rush are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 14 on the road to Toronto.
