The entire student body at Bedford Road Collegiate came out to cheer on their RedHawks at a pep rally Friday morning.
Hundreds of students packed the bleachers yelling and screaming for their favourite players starring in the 49th annual BRIT basketball tournament.
“Absolutely everyone gets involved,” said spirit director Sean Den Hollander. “I just love coming out and seeing the boys play the game.”
Grade 12 RedHawks captain Cody Clinkard said the rally pumps him up.
“I love a big crowd cheering, it’s the best feeling,” he said. “It’s extremely loud – you can’t even hear the coach yelling half the time.”
As the jazz band belted out a tune on drums, flutes and trombones, Bedford students clapped their hands together for their classmates.
“The spirit of the crowd comes together for the boys win or lose,” Den Hollander said. “I love basketball, so this is a big treat for me every year.”
