A water main break over the weekend caused traffic problems on part of Duchess Street Monday morning.
Crews responded around 9 p.m. Sunday to what was called a “significant” water main break. The situation shut traffic down along Duchess Street between 3rd and 7th avenues.
City workers had the situation under control by midnight Sunday.
According to the city, two homes and two businesses are without water while repairs take place.
At least one basement was reportedly flooded during the incident.
The 300 block of Duchess Street is expected to remain closed for continuing repair work.
Police warn drivers to be cautious around the area, as conditions could be icy. The city said workers would be sanding the area.
Shifting ground caused by rapidly rising temperatures is thought to have caused the main to break.
