A Saskatoon teacher previously charged with child pornography offences and is facing new accusations from a former student.
Rhett Jeffrey Lundgren, 39, was arrested Thursday by Saskatoon police for luring, sexual exploitation, possessing child pornography and breaching court conditions.
The new charges relate to an incident from 2009 involving a student at a school where Lundgren was a teacher at the time. The victim recently reported the incident to Red Deer RCMP.
Lundgren made his first court appearance on the new charges in Saskatoon Friday. He is due to appear again on Jan. 25.
He was charged Dec. 8, 2016 with possession of child pornography and two counts of arranging to commit a sexual offence against a child.
Earlier that day, police said they found child pornography on two devices seized from Lundgren.
The teacher had been employed with the Saskatoon Public Schools division since 2010, and was working at Walter Murray Collegiate when the first charges were laid.
Lundgren has since been suspended without pay until both his criminal matters and a separate investigation by the school board are concluded. Originally, he was to remain at home with pay until both were resolved.
