More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
The City of Regina is setting out to recognize people who lend others a hand shovelling snow.
Mayor Michael Fougere kicked off the 2017 Snowbuster program on Tuesday.
“A Snowbuster is a person who goes the extra mile to help their neighbours clear their sidewalk. They are nominated by the residents they help for their ‘pay it forward’ attitude,” said Fougere in a news release. “From the success of our past Snowbuster programs, it’s clear that Regina is a caring community.”
Snowbusters who get nominated are entered to win a snowblower and receive recognition from the mayor.
Along with the nomination aspect of the program, residents can also use the Pay it Forward Snowbuster shovels to help their neighbours.
Once used, residents can leave them behind along fences, trees and houses for the next person to find, use and pay it forward.
