Golf is about to get a lot more interesting in 2017.
Tiger Woods is back.
Will he be the dominate force he was before the injuries started to derail his career?
Likely not as he tips into his 40s, but the galleries will certainly be there.
I was able to take in my first PGA Tour event this past January. It’s a small venue and on Friday there were a few thousand fans but if Tiger would have been there, the crowds would have been considerably larger.
Yes, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Rory McIlroy have their fans but nothing compared to Tiger.
On Thursday, he’ll embark on his 2017 season, hoping that it is a full season once again and I couldn’t be more interested.
The young up and comers are interesting. Add good drama from time to time but with Tiger — arguably the best ever — you’re watching a living legend hit the ball and that’s something the other guys can’t match.
Whether he’s great, good or average, I won’t care. It’s going to be great to see Tiger on the prowl once again.
