There is so much going on in the world of sports to help distract us from reality.
Sports is the ultimate distraction after all, right?
A place to go to escape for a few hours, to concentrate on something that isn’t too stressful. The Super Bowl is coming up. The all-star games were mindless entertainment.
But still it wasn’t enough. Something more important is going on and that is the outrageous treatment of our Muslim friends from the president of the United States and then late on Sunday, the heartbreaking news of terrorism on the Muslim community in our own country. Gunned down during prayer.
I have a hard time with intolerance.
The unwillingness of some to even attempt to understand those who come from different places, different religions and beliefs.
But for that to come from a leader of a supposed ‘free’ country. A country built on immigrants seeking freedom and opportunity. What’s next?
Actually, the potential of what could be next may be the most frightening about the last three days.
