Capitalizing on a shock Jennifer Jones loss in the semi-finals, Michelle Englot beat underdog Darcy Robertson 8-6 to win the Manitoba Scotties.
The win gives the Saskatchewan-based skip a berth into the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Englot had a surprise meeting with Robertson in the final after she shocked seven-time provincial champ Jennifer Jones 8-6 in a semifinal.
It was Englot’s first time competing in the Manitoba Scotties — she is a seven-time Saskatchewan champion.
Things were all tied up into the 10th end, where Englot sat two to pick up the win over Robertson, a three-time provincial champ.
A Regina native, Englot took over for a Manitoba-based team after skip Kristy McDonald stepped away from the game.
