Wray Morrison: Atlanta in an upset

Oddsmakers have the New England Patriots as three-point favourites to beat the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
 
Diehard New England fans hope the Pats leave little doubt, while diehard Atlanta fans are hoping their team can ride the underdog tag to the win.
 
Falcons coach Dan Quinn made a terrific point when he said he believes in his team if it’s a close game. Me too.
In 2016, nine-year veteran Matt Ryan threw for the most yards in his career while throwing just seven interceptions. Last season Ryan threw 16 picks, the year before that 14. (It is worth noting that Tom Brady threw just two in his 14 games this season).
 
The Falcons led the NFL with 540 points in the regular season, and fumbled the ball just four times. Those numbers suggest that Atlanta can protect the football and go toe-to-toe with a Patriots team led by the legendary Bill Belichick
