Sometimes the miracle of life just can’t wait.
That’s what happened on a highway near Rosthern on Feb. 1, when a baby boy was delivered in the back of an ambulance.
“The opportunity to bring a life into the world amidst misfortune and emergencies is a wonderful moment in the career of a paramedic,” said Steve Skoworodko, Owner of Wakaw & District EMS in a media release Monday.
Wakaw EMS said staff were transporting the mother to hospital when it became clear the baby was on its way, right there on the road.
The boy was delivered on Hwy 312 near Rosthern and taken to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
Rosthern is located around 67 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
