Three men have been arrested after an incident in Stoughton Wednesday morning.
Sask. RCMP executed a search warrant on a home on the 300 block of Forget Street in the community, which is located 60 kilometres east of Weyburn.
A second search warrant was executed at a rural residence in the RM of Tecumseh, which is northeast of Stoughton.
One man in the town told 980 CJME that he lives on a street that was blocked off at around 6 a.m.
He said he heard three shots around 7:45 a.m., then observed RCMP going into a nearby home. He said he also saw SWAT team members.
However, RCMP state no shots were fired during the incident and a standoff had not occurred.
RCMP confirmed they had left the scene by 12 p.m.
Discover Weyburn reported that at a rural property, approximately 15 km west of town, one RCMP officer watched a white truck that had slid into a ditch with its motor still running.
Four “large but friendly” dogs were present, but the RCMP officer wouldn’t say who they belonged to.
According to Discover Weyburn, the RCMP officer confirmed the truck was related to the scene in Stoughton, but couldn’t say if it had been involved in a chase.
The investigation is ongoing.
