Regina police officers used a Taser in an arrest Tuesday night.
Around 9:45 p.m., officers were called to a home on the 2100 block of Lorne Street for a report of a break- and-enter in progress.
The arriving officers learned that the call stemmed from a domestic dispute that had continued on to a home on the 2000 block of Hamilton Street. Police proceeded to that address, where they reportedly found a 22-year-old man barricaded inside with a 41-year-old woman being held captive.
Police said the woman was eventually able to free herself.
From there, police said the man put a bladed weapon to his neck and refused to cooperate, prompting one of the officers to use their Taser on him.
The man reportedly dropped the weapon and was arrested before being taken to hospital.
Charges against the man are pending. Police have not released his identity or what charges he will be facing.
Regina Police Service policy requires that the public be notified any time officers use a Taser on a suspect.
