The damage is being called “heavy” after a house fire in Regina Friday night.
Firefighters were called to the home on Wallace Street by 15th Avenue around 9:30 p.m.
Acting Assistant Fire Chief Brian Seidlik said two people were in the home at the time but got out safely. He added flames were seen as fire crews arrived.
“There’s some damage in the main floor,” said Seidilk. “A hole was burnt through the floor, other than that we don’t know anything at this time as our inspector is interviewing the tenants as we speak.”
Both SaskPower and SaskEnergy were on scene, which Seidlik said is normal especially when power lines are so close.
“Once a fire is in a building there could be exposed lines,” he said.
Seidlik said from what he’s seen there’s some heavy damage, but the dollar amount of the blaze will be determined by the fire inspectors.
SaskPower also here as you can see the flames could have gotten close to the power line. #yqr pic.twitter.com/wyFfLu4ugr
