A 31-year-old man has died of his injuries following a collision east of Lloydminster.
Maidstone RCMP reported in a media release that they responded to a collision between a semi-trailer and a pickup truck just after 11 p.m. Sunday night.
Drivers were being diverted off Highway 16 at Waseca, about 38 kilometres east of Lloydminster, into the early hours of Monday morning.
By 8:45 a.m., drivers in the area were telling 650 CKOM the restrictions had been lifted.
The man who died was a resident of Waseca, and was the lone occupant of the pickup truck.
The driver of the semi-trailer was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries and later released.
RCMP said a collision analyst has looked at the scene and the coroner’s office is assisting as the investigation continues.
