It should come as no surprise that PK Subban’s return to Montreal – as a member of the Nashville Predators – is getting a ton of attention.
In a market where hockey is everything, Subban had a larger-than-life personality as a member of the Canadiens. That has benefits and drawbacks when under the microscope.
Subban never made any apologies for suggesting the Canadiens were making a run for the Stanley Cup.
While it’s the goal of every NHL player, there is a danger of putting that out there in front of the fans. It’s something that is brought up the minute a team is eliminated from the playoffs. He was open and honest.
Simply put, Subban is a player fans love if he’s on their team, and fans hate when playing against their team.
After six full seasons in Montreal, one can bet Canadiens fans will show him love one more time – even if he’s not wearing the blue, white and red anymore.
