Late comeback pushes 'Canes past Blades

Two third period goals by Lethbridge forced overtime and Brennan Menell had the winner as the Hurricanes beat Saskatoon 5-4.

Braylon Shmyr had a hat-trick to put Saskatoon 4-2 up heading into the third. That seemed to wake up Lethbridge as they outshot Saskatoon 16-8 to end regulation.

Kirby Dach scored other goal for Saskatoon, the barely 16-year-old had goals on back to back nights this weekend.

Logan Flodell made 36 stops in a losing effort as the Blades were outshot 41-34 in the game.

The loss drops Saskatoon one point back of Calgary for a playoff spot. The Hitmen upset the Regina Pats 6-3.

Saskatoon is back in action on Tuesday, Mar. 7 in Red Deer.
