The Saskatchewan Rush will have a familiar face behind the bench for another four years.
General manager and head coach Derek Keenan has agreed to a contract extension with the defending National Lacrosse League champion Rush.
The 56-year-old started with the team in Edmonton just before the 2010 season.
Since then Keenan has compiled a regular season record of 78-49 and claimed two back to back league titles in 2015 and 2016.
“There’s no other place I’d rather be than in Saskatchewan and with this group of players,” Keenan said in a media release Wednesday.
Lacrosse has been a longtime passion for Keenan, originally from Ontario he played in the league in the 1990’s for Buffalo and after a break spent time with the Toronto Rock.
The 6-3 Rush host the Colorado Mammoth Saturday at SaskTel Centre.
