Work crews were on the scene hours after an apparent train derailment at Watrous Wednesday evening.
It happened along Highway 2 on the outskirts of the town around 9:30 p.m.
Eric Pankratz told 650 CKOM he drove past the scene around 7 a.m. Thursday.
“There were two or three (train) cars in the ditch on each side. They had a hoe and a couple of semi-flatbeds there waiting,” Pankratz said.
Photos of the scene show some cars flipped sideways, with grains spilled on the ground.
Watrous is located around 120 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
There was no impact on traffic.
More to come.
