Evan Fiala got the Blades close before a Broncos powerplay goal sealed the deal.
Brock Hamm made 23 saves in the losing effort as the Blades outshot the Broncos 36-28.
The loss, combined with a 4-3 win for Calgary over Lethbridge puts the Hitmen 1 point back of the Blades for a playoff spot.
