Regina police said officers had to use a Taser on a 46-year-old man when he started disobeying police commands and acting in a threatening manner after a lengthy chase.
The incident happened Monday night around 11:35 p.m.
Police said officers were chasing a suspect on foot in the 2200 block of Halifax Street. Police said the man had previously evaded police during an attempted vehicle stop.
The man reportedly ran back to his vehicle and attempted to drive away, ignoring commands to stop.
Police said at this point, the man posed a danger to officers and others, leading one of the officers to use his stun gun.
Police said officers found a loaded gun, bear spray and drugs when they searched the man after he was subdued.
Dejan Vuckovic, of Regina, received 18 charges including carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a scheduled substance and flight while pursued by a police officer.
Police reported he was uninjured.
Vuckovic appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.
